Rhode Island is home to so many haunted attractions! It's also home to gorgeous forested areas, trails, and state parks. These two things come together at this haunted park with beautiful hiking trails. If you're looking for an eerily unforgettable hike, this is the perfect place.
Colt State Park is nicknamed the "Gem of the State Park System" and is located in the historic deepwater seaport town of Bristol.
Occupying 464 acres of land, the park holds a gorgeous and expansive shoreline with much of it being located along Narragansett Bay.
While this park is undeniably gorgeous with several acres of both hiking and walking trails, there is a certain darkness surrounding it.
Rumors of two unrelated tragic incidents have led to speculation that the trails at this park are some of the most haunted spots in the state.
According to legend, the park was a large working farm until the 20th century and a farm hand perished in the former barn. It's said the ghost of this worker lingers in the park office and is responsible for slamming doors, turning lights on and off, and other terrifying behavior.
The second paranormal tale reports that two children drowned at the park. These two young girls allegedly follow hikers throughout the park with sounds of eerie laughter while attempting to scare visitors away.
Hiking at this creepy park definitely isn't for the faint of heart! For more haunted places to visit in Rhode Island click here.
