Pumpkins come in all shapes and sizes. To see the BIGGEST in all of southern New England, you need to attend this giant pumpkin festival in Rhode Island. The most massive pumpkins you've ever seen are the centerpiece of this family-friendly event brimming with kids activities.
Pumpkin Palooza will take place on weekends from September 8 - October 21, 2018 at Frerich Farm in Warren.
Begin your visit with a ride on Snap, the dragon hayride.
Build your own scarecrow. The farm supplies the bones, guts, and head. Bring a set of clothes to make this fall character complete. For active kids, there's also a separate area where kids can play in and around a haystack.
Little ones can explore the old west town. Complete with a jail, saloon, and bank, this setup lets little imaginations run wild.
Kids will love the paint your own pumpkin station full of vibrant colors. While all of these kid-friendly activities run on weekends during fall, the main event is even more incredible.
On October 6th the highlight of this giant pumpkin festival will occur. Frerichs Farm hosts the Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Grower’s Annual Weigh-off.
Last year's winner Steve Sperry had an enormous pumpkin. But the record-breaker was weighed in at 2,230 lbs. in 2015. It claims the title of the second largest in the world!
This year, the competition is expected to be stiff with entries from all over the area. Attend the festivities and root on the farmers from Rhody.
The pumpkin weigh-off will take place on Frerichs Farm with the official weigh in at 12 p.m. Enjoy live music as the pumpkins begin arriving at 9 a.m. Kids activities will run all day long and mouthwatering food trucks will tempt you with delicious fare.
