Family-friendly adventures are never difficult to find in Rhode Island. It's usually honing in on the one adventure that everyone in the family wants to take that's a bit tough. How about a hike? This Rhode Island trail boasts a ton of natural beauty and plenty of photo-worthy moments (including selfies!). You might just find the whole family agrees they love it.

You won't need a ton of time, maybe half an hour, for this picturesque path that spans just .08 of a mile through varied, beautiful terrain.

Wandering through Rockville Management and Public Fishing Area, the Long and Ell Pond Trail is short but sweet.

It also leads to spectacular views of Long and Ell Ponds. Hikers waver between rating the trail easy and challenging as you'll have some stairs to climb.

Wear proper shoes and bring plenty of water. While the trail may be short, you'll face a lot of rocky terrain. Elevation can also be challenging if you're not in great shape.

If you're hiking after rain or snow, be prepared to deal with slippery rocks.

If the kids love climbing on rocks, they'll feel like they're in heaven. You'll do a lot of scrambling along this scenic trail.

However, all of your effort will be well-rewarded with jaw-dropping views of Ell Pond and Long Pond.

While the trail poses challenges, it can also get quite busy, so be prepared to run into other hikers. This isn't necessarily a quiet trail.

Dogs are not permitted on the trail.
