Colt State Park is located in Bristol, on the shores of Narragansett Bay.

The 464-acre park is quite massive, but thanks to its remote location, it's often overlooked.

The entire western border of the park is an open panorama onto Narragansett Bay—and the views are simply unparalleled.

No wonder this place is referred to as the Gem of the State Parks System.

Colt State Park is an absolutely ideal place to go for a nature walk.

The Colt State Park Loop is a 3.9-mile trek that loops all the way around the park and is perfect for families (and dogs are welcome as well).

In addition to all the lush lawns, stone walls, and winding trails, you can enjoy some quiet beach time here.

This is truly one of the most spectacular shorelines in Rhode Island.

On the 4th of July, many Rhode Islanders gather at Colt State Park to observe Bristol's famous and long-running fireworks show... but otherwise, it stays fairly quiet.
