The Allegheny River Trail is over 28 miles long, which sounds daunting.
But trust us: This trail isn't a difficult one — and it truly packs a punch.
Like the name of the trail suggests, it runs beside the Allegheny River.
It's mostly paved, and the elevation gain on this point to point trail is only 810 feet.
Along the way, you weave in and out of the forest. It's pretty and peaceful out here.
Keep an eye out for interesting wildlife!
One of the most interesting parts of the trail comes when Indian God Rock emerges.
This massive boulder is covered in Native American petroglyphs. All sorts of drawings are etched into the rock.
You'll also come across a waterfall, which is always a sight to behold.

Another highlight of the trail? There are multiple tunnels you can explore along the way.
Make sure you bring a flashlight, though — they're very dark!
