When's the last time you really stepped back, took a deep breath, and appreciated the awesomeness of nature? Fortunately, PA offers so much natural beauty that, no matter how busy we are, we can even just go to a local park to admire all that nature has to offer. But, sometimes, it's refreshing to just get away. Next time you want to really enjoy nature — and some of the most spectacular views in the state — head to this scenic overlook in Pennsylvania.
Spend a leisurely day at Hyner View State Park, which spans a cozy six acres.
But, those six acres certainly pack a lot of punch, especially when it comes to the breathtaking views.
Good news, too! The scenic overlook at Hyner View State Park is just a short walk from the parking lot and is ADA-accessible.
So, make your way to the overlook wall, where you'll be treated to views of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
Admire the view from 1,300 feet above the river.
After snapping photos, head to the picnic area for a leisurely picnic lunch. The picnic area boasts charcoal grills, a picnic table, and a toilet (non-flush).
Even better? As you sit in the shaded area, you'll still have sweeping views of the Susquehanna River below.
Or, if you're up for a little adventure, go hang gliding, launching from a ramp right at the overlook.
Hyner View State Park is located at 86 Hyner Park Rd., North Bend, PA 17760.
