Audubon Loop Trail In Pennsylvania Will Lead You Straight To A Crystal-Clear Waterfall

Chasing waterfalls is a natural pastime for Pennsylvanians. After all, we have hundreds of named and unnamed waterfalls in all corners of the state - from the 21 named falls at Ricketts Glen State Park to Dingman Falls, the state's tallest cascade. The Audubon Loop Trail in Pennsylvania leads to a smattering of crystal-clear waterfalls and natural pools, offering a picturesque adventure all year round.

Drenched in natural beauty, from waterfalls to natural pools, Audubon Loop Trail meanders two miles through Seven Tubs Nature Area in Wilkes-Barre.

The nature area is perhaps best known for its natural pools (or tubs, if you prefer). However, swimming is not permitted in the nature area.

Prepare for a somewhat challenging trek as the Audubon Loop Trail is rated moderate due, in part, to rocky terrain and roots jutting up from the ground.

You'll also face a few stream crossings, so wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet. The trail can get pretty slippery, especially near the waterfalls and after a rainfall or snow.

Be careful if you're hiking in the autumn when there are leaves on the ground. The trail can get slippery then, too.

Dogs are permitted along the trail, which can get really busy during the warmer months and for the fall foliage.

Typically, the tubs draw the most people. Once you pass the tubs, however, you'll likely find the trail is much quieter.

Be sure to bring plenty of water and your camera along. Hikers report that it's not uncommon to run into spider webs along the path.
