Located on the southern Oregon Coast, Whaleshead Beach is a gorgeous hidden gem where you'll find a mile-long stretch of sand, amazing sea stacks, and breathtaking ocean views.
The beach is named after Whaleshead Island, which can be viewed from the shore.
For an unforgettable outing, spend the day exploring the area; take a walk along the shore, dip your feet in the surf, investigate the tide pools and caves, watch the sun set, or just relax in the sand with a book.
At the edge of the beach you'll find a picnic area that makes for a perfectly scenic place to eat lunch.
Whaleshead Beach is only 8 miles north of Brookings, though it's relatively unfrequented. At times you may even have this beautiful beach all to yourself.
