Toketee Falls is a stunningly beautiful waterfall in Oregon that cascades 113 feet into a deep turquoise basin. Aptly named, Toketee is the Chinook word for "graceful" -- and wow, is it ever! Located on the North Umpqua River in the Umpqua National Forest, this majestic waterfall is carved through ancient, textured basalt adorned with emerald-green leaves. One of the most unique and wondrous waterfalls in Oregon, Toketee Falls is absolutely breathtaking to behold in person, and it's a perfect destination for your next unforgettable excursion into nature.
The Toketee Falls Trail is an easy .9 mile loop trail that, despite including a number of stairs, is one of the most accessible waterfall trails in Oregon.
The trailhead for Toketee Falls is located near Roseburg, Oregon. To get to the falls, take Highway 138 and turn north at milepost 58.6 onto Forest Road 34 (AKA Toketee-Rigdon Road). Once you've crossed the first bridge, you'll see the trailhead parking on the left.
After just about half a mile, you'll find the observation platform, which offers stunning views of the waterfall.
This enchanting, two-stepped waterfall was carved through beautiful basalt by an ancient lava flow. It seems to pour out of the earth.
More specifically, the North Umpqua River carved the gorge out of ancient lava flow, resulting in this stunner of a waterfall that is 113 feet in height. Toketee Falls features a 28-foot upper tier which plunges into a pool flanked by a deep alcove, followed by an 85-foot plunge into a large pool.
You can swim in the basin, too, if you don't mind cold water!
