Oregon's Errol Heights City Park is a fabulous new park in Portland that blends natural areas, wildlife viewing, accessible paths, and playground equipment with outdoor fun for all.
After years of planning and restoration, Errol Heights Park opened this year, offering 16 acres of natural habitat, viewing areas, accessible trails, and a fantastic all-abilities-welcome playground. This Southeast Portland park preserves natural wetlands and riparian areas. The park includes shaded walkways along a pond that's teeming with wildlife including beavers, birds, and nutria. There's also a splash pad, lawn, accessible picnic areas, and more.
You'll find groomed lawns as well as wild areas to explore.
This park is a true hidden gem tucked between busy urban streets.
The wide paths are designed for accessibility.
Everywhere you turn is another lovely view.
The playground equipment will delight any child, especially the epic tube slide.
It's one of the best playgrounds in Portland!
There's lots for kids to climb on, spin on, and enjoy.
These spinner seats are a big hit too.
Multiple viewing points are available along the pathways.
During my visit, I saw lots of ducks and birds.
We didn't see any beavers but we found evidence of their presence in the park in the form of downed and gnawed on logs. Although, on another visit, I saw a nutria doing backstrokes in the pond.
