This Epic Mountain In Oregon Will Drop Your Jaw

Mt Hood is the highest mountain in Oregon (and one of the tallest in the country), and it's incredibly beautiful. The stunning, snow-capped peak is surrounded by lakes, glaciers, forests, wildflower fields, streams and more. It's heaven on earth for any nature lover, and has bountiful opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, climbing and more. The lovely foothills are rich with forests, farms and orchards.

Mt Hood is part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc, and is considered a "potentially active" volcano.

One great way to experience the mountain is by taking a scenic ride on the Mt Hood Railroad.

With proper gear and preparation, adventure lovers can climb all the way to the summit. It's truly exhilarating.

The mountain has six ski resorts and an impressive total of almost 5,000 acres of skiable slopes.

Timberline Lodge is a National Historic Landmark, and it's the takeoff point for Timberline Ski Resort, which has the only year-round lift-served skiing in North America.

Mount Hood has countless wonderful hiking trails, including the famous Timberline Trail, a 40.7 mile trail that circles the mountain.
