Living in such a naturally beautiful area as Oregon makes most of us want to spend as much time outdoors exploring as we can. While Oregon's home to a long list of hiking trails, sometimes we just feel like spending time on the water. Beaver Creek State Natural Area in Oregon offers a beautiful water trail, perfect for kayakers or canoers who want to see the state's natural beauty from another perspective.
Brian Booth State Park in Seal Rock boasts a full menu of activities for outdoor lovers - from hiking and wildlife watching to picnicking and paddling.
If the water's calling your name, set off on the water at Beaver Creek State Natural Area's water trail that clocks in at just over three miles.
To reach the trail, go to North Beaver Creek Road. You'll see a boat launch across from Ona Beach. That's where your adventure begins.
A paddle through the marsh promises plenty of opportunities to see some of the local wildlife - beavers and river otters, for example.
Keep an eye out on the land, too, where you just might be fortunate enough to spot deer, coyote, or even a black bear.
If you plan to make a day of it, bring a picnic along and maybe even your hiking boots.
The natural area also offers five miles of hiking trails and jaw-dropping ocean views.
If you prefer a guided tour to exploring on your own, you can join a guided tour led by a park ranger, usually from July through Labor Day annually.
Head over to the official website fo Brian Booth State Park for more information. You'll also find a trail map on All Trails.
