Turner Falls in Oklahoma Will Soon Be Surrounded by Beautiful Fall Colors

Turner Falls in Oklahoma becomes even more beautiful in the fall, offering a variety of outdoor activities and stunning scenery.

As summer breezes turn to crisp autumn air, and the weather begins to get cooler in the Sooner State, one thing we Oklahomans can always count on is Turner Falls becoming even more beautiful. Soon we will be surrounded by the striking fall colors that we all love so much. While summer visitors love the cool refreshing water at Turner Falls, autumn offers its very own long list of activities that are sure to excite the senses and keep you returning for years to come. You'll never regret an autumn adventure at Turner Falls in Oklahoma.

The invigorating sights and sounds of summer will soon give way to soothing autumn tones, rendering the Sooner State's landscape pretty much postcard-perfect. As you take in the impressive views in every direction and feel the brisk air, you will undoubtedly long for a cup of something warm. It's the perfect pairing with crisp autumn air, after all. Pumpkin spice something—anything—anyone?

Pack your hiking boots if you are up for a little adventure, as there are several miles of trails to explore in Turner Falls Park and around the eponymous waterfall. Of course, don't forget to bring a jacket or sweater, as temperatures in Oklahoma can drop fairly quickly during the fall, especially in November, when colors reach their peak, and near the rushing water of the falls—so be ready. Hiking is always a much more pleasant experience when you're comfortable.

Overnight camping is another incredible way to experience the park. What's better than the crackle of the campfire while you're roasting s'mores? Nothing. That's what. There's fall color... and then there's fall color at Turner Falls. The cool air and beautiful sites will make you want to stay outside all day. We're not even sure of all the adjectives we could use to express the wonder of the place. Astonishing? Stunning? Awe-inspiring? Yes to all.

Exploring the caves during this vivid time of year is also delightful. These caves are a must-see, as the landscape is fairly uncommon in Oklahoma. It's not every day you get to enjoy a place as magical as this. Moreover, some of the best fishing in the state can be found right here at Turner Falls. The crystal-clear water makes it even more fun... and so very rewarding.

There is even an old castle to explore—because this park just had to keep getting cooler. Built as a private residence in the 1930s, Collings Castle will make you think you have been transported to medieval times in Europe. Exploring it will add an almost eerie sense of wonder to your autumn visit to Turner Falls.

I don't think there's a prettier place to enjoy fall foliage in Oklahoma. Visit the official Turner Falls Facebook page to learn more about Turner Falls and all it has to offer.

What are your favorite places for leaf peeping in the Sooner State? We'd love to hear about them.
