Walk Through An Underwater Shark-Infested Tunnel At The Oklahoma Aquarium In Oklahoma

Visit the Oklahoma Aquarium for an immersive experience walking through a shark tunnel featuring the world's largest collection of bull sharks.

Looking for something adventurous to do while the kids are on Christmas break? If so, head to the Oklahoma Aquarium and walk through a shark-infested tunnel with some of the world's most dangerous sharks known to man. This immersive exhibit will get you so close to these intriguing animals, you'll feel like you can reach out and touch them. Check it out below:

The Oklahoma Aquarium opened in 2003 in Jenks and has become a top tourist attraction in the state. Visitors can enjoy a variety of animal exhibits, including one of the coolest shark tunnels in the country.

In fact, it’s home to the world’s largest collection of bull sharks in the world. Ten of the “most dangerous sharks known to man” inhabit the 380,000-gallon saltwater tank and tunnel, along with three nurse sharks.

You can’t get any closer to sharks anywhere else (unless you’re swimming next to them, which we highly discourage). If you’re brave enough to walk through the tunnel, you’ll get to see them up close and personal...with a strong glass barrier for protection.

This immersive exhibit allows visitors of all ages, the chance to walk through tunnels beneath and alongside some of the most beautiful and deeply misunderstood creatures in the ocean. Weekly shark feeding shows take place on Mondays and Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.

This Oklahoma attraction is the only exhibit in the entire Western Hemisphere where bull sharks can be seen. Did you know they have the strongest bite force of any shark species and are responsible for a large proportion of shark bites each year?

The Oklahoma Aquarium also has many other animal exhibits that you’ll want to visit after viewing the sharks. One of my favorites is Sea Turtle Island - a 58,000-gallon tank that is home to a loggerhead sea turtle and many other fish friends.

After visiting all the great animals and exhibits, check out the gift shop and pick up a few keepsakes to take home.

The Oklahoma Aquarium is located on the west side of the Arkansas River in the town of Jenks.

They are open year-round (except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day) from10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; The last admission ticket is sold at 5 p.m.
