Robbers Cave Stables is located inside Robbers Cave State Park in Wilburton and is open year-round. They offer a variety of cowboy trail rides for the whole family, ranging from 15 minutes to 2 hours.
All riders should arrive 30 minutes before departure time to allow time for instruction and training modules. Guests over the age of 5 are allowed to ride alone on select trails.
Right now is the best time of year for a horseback ride through the park. The foliage has already started turning colors and is close to peak season.
No experience is necessary to enjoy one of their gorgeous guided tours. They have trails for beginner riders as well as experienced riders.
Some trails are open year-round while others are only open September - May.
The Jesse James Ride is the longest ride offered by the stables. This 2-hour horseback tour will lead you to the caves in Robbers Cave State Park that were once used as a hideout for outlaws like Jesse James and Belle Star.
Plus, you'll climb in elevation and have jaw-dropping views of the mountains.
