1. Sparrow Hawk Wildlife Management Area - East 733 Road, Tahlequah

Explore over 550 acres in northeastern Oklahoma overlooking the gorgeous Illinois River. There's hiking, biking, swimming, and rafting opportunities, so get out and discover this breathtaking area.

2. Black Mesa State Park - County Road 325, Kenton

Black Mesa boasts the highest point in the state – 4,973 ft. above sea level and offers a unique topography you won't find anywhere else in the state. Take the 4.2 mile moderately strenuous hike to the top to see incredible surrounding views.

3. Lake Altus-Lugert - Quartz Mountain Nature Park: 43393 Scissortail Road, Lone Wolf

Head to southwestern Oklahoma to Lake Altus-Lugert in the Quartz Mountain Nature Park area. It's surrounded by rugged granite hills and offers a variety of outdoor activities. There's a public hunting area, lots of hiking, boating, and fishing areas you don't want to miss.

4. Beavers Bend State Park - 4350 South Hwy 259A,
