You'll find it along Girdham Road in Swanton, Ohio.

Here, rare plants and animals, oak forests, sand dunes, savannas, tall-grass prairies and swamp forests all thrive in harmony.

Oak Openings has a tendency to make visitors feel as if they've temporarily traveled to another state or different part of the world.

The park covers a total of 5,000 acres and features more than 30 miles of well-marked hiking trails.

The Oak Openings Hiking Trail circles more than 15 miles around the park, winding its way through lakes, sand dunes, ferns and an enchanting red pine forest.

Note: If you'd rather not hike the entire trail, you can use connecting trails for quicker access to the pine forest.
