Whether you need some good old-fashioned family fun or a quiet weekend away with your partner, you simply can't go wrong with exploring an Ohio state park. With a stunning lake, cozy lodge and scenic trials, Burr Oak State Park in Glouster might just be the most underrated state park in Ohio. Here's why you'll want to add this beautiful park to your Ohio bucket list for future adventures.

Surrounded by a pristine lake, Burr Oak State Park is a true hidden gem for Ohio nature lovers.

It's the perfect place for some peace, quiet and just the right amount of adventure.

With a total of 7 hiking trails and 3 bridle trails, there's plenty to explore. Although the colorful foliage makes this place particularly stunning in the fall, it's beautiful year-round.

The trails vary in length and difficulty. The lakefront trails are especially beautiful and are well marked.

If you'd rather not hook up your RV or pitch a tent, consider staying in a camper cabin (pictured), cottage or even a lodge room.

The Burr Oak State Park Lodge and Conference Center features 38 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar and roaring fireplace in the colder months.

The views from the lodge aren't bad either.

Worried about the possibility of rain? The indoor pool is the perfect place to wait out the rain or get some swimming time in during the colder months.

Outside, you'll find plenty of things to do, including mini golf, fishing, swimming, hiking and many other activities.

Weather permitting, you'll definitely want to get out on the lake. You can rent pontoon boats, canoes, kayaks, and even motorboats.
