This Beautiful Hike In Ohio Has A Mouthwatering Restaurant Right Along The Trail
Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve offers a scenic hiking trail with waterfalls, a historic mill, and a charming restaurant.

There's one trail in western Ohio that belongs at the top of every Ohioan's bucket list. It features a stunning gorge, an abundance of waterfalls and even a charming restaurant along the way. The next time you need a weekend adventure or a day trip idea, consider hiking the loop trail at Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve. It leads to a charming restaurant and the state's only operating water-powered grist mill.
Right by John Bryan State Park, you'll find Clifton Gorge. It follows the course of the Little Miami River, making it a beautiful hiking destination.
You'll find it at 2381 OH-343, Yellow Springs, OH 45387.
The loop trail, also known as the Pittsburgh-Cincinnati Stagecoach Trail, cuts through limestone gorge and follows interesting pieces of Ohio's past, which you can read about along the way.

The 4.4-mile loop is considered a moderate hike. Some spots can be slippery to cross in the gorge, so please proceed with caution.
Please note: Pets are not allowed along this trail, so leave your furry friends at home this time.
The scenic waterfalls and rapids along the way are beautiful and calming. Don't forget your camera!
There's even an onsite nature center that's open from April - October from 10 a .m. - 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Just a few minutes off the trail, you'll encounter Clifton Mill, a historic mill and charming restaurant worthy of its own day trip.
It's located at 75 Water St., Clifton, OH 45316.
You'll find some of the best breakfast food in Ohio here. Lunch is served until 2 p.m. and breakfast is served all day.
You can visit Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The homey atmosphere and stunning views will make you want to stay awhile. Be sure to stroll the grounds before you leave, take a photo of the covered bridge and explore the 1940s Gas Station Museum.
