Did you know that nestled near Amarado, North Dakota, is a little (okay, it's not small, but you get the context here) family-run farm that's been in operation since - hold up - 1880? Nelson's Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze is a North Dakota legend that's become nothing short of tradition for over a century, and we just adore it. It's a classic that your entire family will positively fall in love with. Come see why we love this lil' fall tradition in North Dakota:
When we say it's been around forever, we mean forever.
...more than 140 YEARS, to be exact. 14 decades. Whew.
There's plenty of wonderful things to do and see here, so you might want to arrive as early as you can.
You'll find an 11-acre corn maze, carefully grown and lovingly curated year after year.
The design changes with each year, so of course you'll have to keep coming back to see what awesome new stuff they dream up. Trust us... you'll want to come back anyway. It won't be a problem.
You'll also find an awesome hayride (and plenty of hay bales for sale at just $3.00 a bale!), a pumpkin-themed bounce house, fun classic games like "Pumpkin Chunkin'" and "Conk The Crow"...
....and TONS more.
This is definitely one of the best autumn-centric traditions in North Dakota.
This year, Nelson's Pumpkin Patch opened on September 11th, and it goes through October 30th - weather permitting, of course.
Of course, you'll want to make sure to bring some change with you, because there's plenty of wonderful, farm-fresh (in the most literal sense) goodies to be taken home at the end of the night!
Nelson's Pumpkin Patch is open on weekdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission - not including the corn cannon or the pumpkin blaster - is just $8.00.
For full info on the most up-to-date events, FAQs, more photos, and anything else you can think of, you'll definitely want to check out the official Nelson's Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze website. Of course, they're open the rest of the year, too, though the autumn shenanigans are seasonal. Need more fall festivities in your life?
