Soco Falls Is A Scenic Outdoor Spot In North Carolina That’s A Nature Lover’s Dream Come True

Soco Falls in North Carolina offers a stunning view of two waterfalls with an easy hike and a scenic observation deck.

When it comes to waterfalls in North Carolina we find that they are undeniably wonderful. With hundreds of waterfalls peppering the state, you don’t have to go too far to stand before one of these majestic natural wonders. Located just past the Blue Ridge Parkway near Cherokee, Soco Falls might just be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in North Carolina, and that’s saying something. Have you ever seen Soco Falls photos before? We have been lucky enough to see it ourselves and it is even better than the pictures. Let’s check it out.

First off to answer the question "Where is Soco Falls?" Soco Falls is located just on the outskirts of Maggie Valley near the Cherokee Indian Reservation. This is also a waterfall in North Carolina that is very easy to get to from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

You can park along US Highway 19 and then take a short hike to see the falls. The hike is steep, but fairly short and pretty easy as far as North Carolina hikes are concerned.

The out-and-back trail is about .1 mile long, so it won’t take you very long to get to the falls, and you’ll hear them before you see them. In our experience, it was a very short walk down to the viewing platform. If you take the trail just a short distance further then you can get right to the base of the falls.

There’s a little observation deck where you can catch great views of these incredible waterfalls.

If you visit after a hard rainfall, it's even better.

The cascades really flow after a rain, making the falls just that much more enchanting.

Once you get to the observation deck, you’ll be treated to quite the view of not one, but two waterfalls!

That's right! Two incredible waterfalls for the price of one. It's the perfect spot to relax for a moment and listen to the symphony of sounds these waterfalls make.

A nature lover's paradise!

One of the best ways to experience Soco Falls is to get down to the base of the falls. The trail is very steep and can be slippery on the rocks. There are ropes tied to trees for added support but we didn't have much of a problem getting down the trail.

This pretty spot was just dreamy and caused us to just stay and witness this glorious waterfall. The way the two cascading falls merge together in one pool is incredible. With an easy hike, this is one simple waterfall you will not want to miss.

Let me tell you after visiting the Soco Falls photos just don't do it justice. This is one place you will want to see in person. When we knew that these waterfalls near me were close we knew we had to go. Make sure you have your AllTrails app handy and the map for Soco Falls before you go. It does help to be familiar with the trail so if you would like to see more please check out the Adventure in the Moment video from when we went to this awesome waterfall.
