Asheville, North Carolina, offers much in the way of outdoor recreation - case in point, the French Broad River Greenway to New Belgium Brewery Trail. The French Broad River Greenway to New Belgium Brewery trail is just under 4.5 miles each way and it departs from a wonderful little boating park that's wedged between a couple of waterways: the French Broad River and Hominy Creek.
Hop on the greenway here and enjoy the river vistas as you make your way over to the brewery.

Wide open views of the French Broad River will spoil you for other trails in the area.
In total, the river is 218 miles long but some of the best parts are found along this trail.
Whether you're taking a nice slow walk beneath the canopy high above or you're running or biking, there's a huge payoff awaiting at the end of the trail.
It leads straight to New Belgium Brewing located at 21 Craven Street in Asheville.
New Belgium has an extensive patio with tons of outdoor seating. (You can even bring your dog along if you're sitting outside!)
Order up a flight and kick back and relax for a while before making the hike back down the river to the park where you parked your car.
The French Broad River Greenway to New Belgium Brewery trail is a total of 8.9 miles with only a slight elevation change of 108 feet each way.
