You’ll Absolutely Love A Ride On New York’s Majestic Mountain Train This Summer

Featuring four different stations that offer incredible train rides through New York's scenic areas, it's impossible not to fall in love with this relaxing adventure.

With stations currently operating in Utica and Old Forge, there's much to be seen on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad.

Step on board and nostalgia will quickly set in as you take in seat in these beautiful trains.

Taking you through the mountains and New York's beautiful scenery, the railroad has been a popular attraction to experience since the early 1980s.

Throughout the year you'll find the railroad service offering unique events, like old fashioned Gang Train Robberies, a Clown Train, Soda Fountain Lunch Trains and even a Beer & Wine Train ride to enjoy this summer!

Throughout the year the railroad is operated by hundreds of volunteers, working hard so our residents can make use of this amazing attraction.

Perfect for the entire family, all you have to do is sit back and relax while you travel through remote parts of New York.

Those of our residents who are looking for a bit more adventure can Rail & Cruise packages along the Old Forge line, where you'll get to hop on board an Old Forge cruise to get a view of the Adirondacks from out on the water.

Many of you may remember that the Adirondack Scenic Railroad use to once offer rides from Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. Unfortunately last year the decision was made by the state remove over 30-miles of the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, eliminating both of these stops along the railway. To ensure that the rest of this historic railroad doesn't disappear, be sure to take a ride from Utica or Old Forge to show that we still love and appreciate this timeless attraction!
