Well, the weather is heating up -- so that means it's time to figure out how to cool off. If you have kids, it can be a struggle to find the best New Orleans water parks to take the family for some water fun. Well, we're here to help. We've found the best waterparks in New Orleans and the best waterparks around New Orleans so that you can keep cool all summer long. Here they are!
1) Bogue Chitto State Park, Franklinton
This state park north of Covington and Mandeville offers some beautiful splash areas for the kids as well as being on the Bogue Chitto River, which is the perfect place for little ones to take a dip. Get an aerial view of this lovely swimming spot:
2) Audubon Zoo Cool Zoo, New Orleans
This exciting addition to Audubon Zoo offers a lazy river, slides, and so much more to visitors. 6500 Magazine St. Enjoy this overview of all the fun you can have here:
3) Ormond Spray Park, Destrehan
This spray park is found in Destrehan and offers lots of fun and splashes for all who visit. 1901 Ormond Boulevard.
4) Blue Bayou Dixie Landin’, 18142 Perkins Rd., Baton Rouge
Probably the largest and most exciting waterpark in the New Orleans area, there are rides for kids of all ages and amazing extras. You'll truly have a great day here. Get a bird’s-eye view of this fun waterpark:
5) Fontainebleau State Park, Mandeville
The spray features at the edge of Lake Pontchartrain are a great way to spend the afternoon--and when you get tired of the splashes, just take a dip into the lake!
6) Gulf Island Waterpark, Gulfport
A little farther afield, you can hop into your car and visit this water park which offers tube rides, pelican bay, a lazy river, and a wave pool.
7) Spray Park at Jambalaya Park, Gonzales
This free spray park in Gonzales, where the Tanger Outlet Mall can be found, is truly a blast for all that visit. There's also a public pool at the park that costs $7.
8) Splash Pad at Lafreniere, Kenner
13 water features make this splash pad an awesome place to bring the kids for the day--especially those 5 and under.
