Featuring over 1,700 acres of some of Louisiana's most beautiful scenery, it's easy to fall in love with this little slice of paradise.

Located in the rolling hills of Washington Parish, the Bogue Chitto State Park is one of the newer state parks in Louisiana.

It opened to the public in 2010 and has quietly become a popular spot for nature lovers.

Nestled along the beautiful Bogue Chitto River, you'll never run out of things to do here.

Fishing, boating, wildlife viewing... take your pick!

Both the disc golf course and the playground are popular attractions for the younger folks.

In the summer, the water playground is an especially favored attraction.

The river is obviously one of the park's main attractions.

And there are plenty of ways to enjoy it.

Kayak, canoe, and tube rentals are available for visitors who would like to take to the waterways to explore the park.

There are plenty of sandy beaches along the way which are great for pulling off and admiring the view.

The park has an extensive set of equestrian, mountain bike, and pedestrian trails that will lead you through the park’s beautiful cypress-tupelo swamps, hardwood forests, and lovely rolling landscape.

Due to the park's size, you'll probably want to spend a day or two exploring it all.
