These springs might have gotten a bad rep at one point for being a bit rowdy, but things have calmed down and now the underrated spring is the perfect natural oasis. This amazing spring is located just 7 miles from Jemez Springs. There are no signs for the springs, so look out for a small parking lot on the side of the road when you've gone this far.
To get to the hot springs is a short, but somewhat difficult 0.6-mile trek.
Once you get up to the top of the steep hill, you'll find amazing pools surrounded by luscious mountains.
At just 100 degrees Fahrenheit, these pools are the perfect temperature to kick back and relax in beautiful scenery.
Spence Hot Springs are quite popular since they're so beautiful and easily accessible. Each pool can accommodate about a dozen people, and you'll often find that many within them.
For a more solitary time, try visiting the springs in the early morning. This is one of the best spots for New Mexico sunrises.
