The Champney Falls Trail Will Show You A Completely New Side Of New Hampshire

The majestic beauty of Champney Falls is on full display during this 3.1 mile out-and-back trail near Conway, New Hampshire. They are nestled in the White Mountain National Forest, which means there is an endless abundance of great views and natural wonders to take in during the hike.

The falls are a series of cascades that measure about 70 feet long. Water rushes over rock formations and micro cliffs, freezing icy in the winter to create a wonderland of icicles and snow bluffs.

In the colder months, the area is transformed into a beautiful, yet harsh, landscape full of sharp angles and bright snow.

In the summer, the trail is softer and full of color. The lush greenery thrives, and the high vantage point allows for breathtaking views of the valley below.

It takes around 2.5 hours on average to complete the Champney Falls Trail.

There are a few places where hikers must cross streams, and in the winter it can get icy. Hikers are encouraged to watch their step and take it slow if need be.

Yellow paint markers and little maps are up along the trail to ensure that hikers are going in the right direction to reach the peak in an optimal amount of time.

The terrain is visually interesting, with varied rock formations, leafy tree-top canopies, and babbling brooks.

The Champney Falls Trail does allow dogs, so despite the moderate difficulty, hikers can bring their (sure-footed) furry friends on their adventures to the falls.
