Built in 1933 to house dignitaries visiting the Hoover Dam during its construction, the Boulder Dam Hotel is said to be haunted by a former night clerk. Visitors and staff have reported feeling ghostly hands on their shoulders and seeing and feeling ghostly hands reaching through the floor, grabbing at their feet. Creepy.
Formerly the Las Vegas Hilton (and before that, the International Hotel), this was Elvis Presley's favorite hotel. During the seven years beginning in July 1969, the King broke and reset world records for performances and amassed over 2.5 million fans. Since Elvis' death in 1977, there have been numerous reports of Elvis sightings and hearing his voice throughout the hotel, but particularly in the showroom, backstage elevator, and penthouse. If a place is to be haunted, at least Elvis' ghost would be a welcome apparition for many.
Once the Las Vegas courthouse and a post office, the mob museum is rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of many of the mobsters whose artifacts decorate the museum. Many visitors have reported feeling unseen hands touching (or even pushing) them, and one guest captured what appeared to be the ghost of Las Vegas mobster Bugsy Siegel on film.
Bonnie Springs attracts many paranormal investigators who have witnessed everything from the apparition of a little girl in the schoolhouse, the merry-go-round spinning on its own, and creepy photos of a black mass in the opera house. Additionally, voices have been heard in the wax museum, and several wax figures have been said to move by themselves or even appear to be breathing. Although now closed and abandoned, the Goldfield Hotel is said to be the most haunted place in Nevada. Among the resident spirits include "Elizabeth" who was allegedly murdered in the hotel. She is said to be wearing a long white dress with long, flowing hair. Two additional ghosts are rumored to be people who committed suicide in the hotel. Three small children have been seen and heard in the lobby, while the "stabber" haunts the kitchen and ambushes guests with a large knife (but who has never harmed anyone.) Finally, the ghost of the old owner George Wingfield haunts his hotel as evidenced by the strong smell of cigar smoke and random fresh ashes found in his old room.
The most famous ghost in the Mizpah Hotel is the Lady in Red, a prostitute who was murdered on the 5th floor by her jealous lover. She is said to haunt the entire floor, and the actual room is dubbed the "Lady in Red Suite." Guests have experienced her presence and rumor has it that if she likes a guest, she will leave pearls on his/her bed. Other alleged spirits haunting the hotel include several children who can be heard laughing and running down the hallway, as well as tugging on guests' and employees' shirts. An out-of-commission elevator's doors have also been reported to randomly open and close.
This 134-year-old hotel is the site of much reported paranormal activity from loud footsteps, growling, and the presence of dark figures. Of particular interest is Room 11 in which a young prostitute named Rosie (who allegedly committed suicide in the bathroom) haunts. Guests of this room have reported hearing the doorknob jiggle, phantom footsteps, and disembodied voices.
Built in 1860, this house is reportedly haunted by a Civil War colonel who likes to hang out in the kitchen and a little girl in a white dress who has been spotted and heard throughout the mansion.
This old west saloon is reportedly haunted by a spirit named Lena who lingers near the spiral staircase in the back. This temptress was allegedly murdered on the third floor and her killer (whose ghost also haunts the club) committed suicide on the second. Another oft-seen spirit is that of a teenage girl who was murdered in the basement. The Old Washoe Club is one of the most haunted places in Nevada.
Allegedly haunted by the first Nevada governor Danver S. Dickson's wife Una and their daughter June, this house is reportedly one of the most haunted in the entire US. Visitors have often reported seeing the ghosts of these two females and feeling cold spots throughout the house.
