If you're looking for a beautiful trail to a waterfall, then you're going to love the Hunter Creek Falls Trail near Reno, Nevada. This trail is popular with visitors and locals alike, and people who have taken it on rave about it! It's rated moderately challenging and is 5.7 miles in length overall. This trail is an out-and-back trail so you'll have to go back the same way that you came, but it's absolutely beautiful in both directions so you won't mind! Read on to learn more about it.
The Hunter Creek Trail begins just outside of Reno. It's a well-marked trail with lots of beauty and it's sure to be fun for the whole family.
There's plenty of parking and there are restrooms at the trailhead.
This trail is best from April through October. However, keep in mind that it can get quite hot during the summer months. Much of the journey comes with minimal shade; be sure to bring plenty of water along.
In fact, you'll find almost no shade for the first two miles, so be ready for it!

Later on your hike, though, you'll be able to enjoy the shade provided by tall trees.
