The Mossy Ridge Trail in Percy Warner Park is a favorite amongst Nashvillians. For its ease for hikers, of course, but also for its beautiful views and opportunity to get away from it all even from right within the city. You may love the trail, but d'you care to learn a bit more about it? We have some trivia facts that may just help you win that next round at Edley's...
Do you know how far Mossy Ridge Trail is from downtown Nashville? You may be surprised to hear that it's only 25 minutes from the heart of the city, making it easy to head out on a hike this weekend.
The trail runs in a 4.5-mile loop, making it easy to hike or jog for a solid bit of exercise. You won't have to worry about going up and back, either!
One of the most popular aspects of the trail is the ease of its terrain. Not technical, great for folks of all ages and just long enough to be a workout, the loop is great for any time of the year.
It should take you a little over an hour to complete the walk, and the trail is even dog friendly. As long as Fido is on a leash, of course.
Pro tip: bring some water! Although the trail is easy, you don't want to end up thirsty along the way. There's no way to grab a swig once you get started so come prepared!
The amount of plant life along the trail is stunning, making Mossy Ridge Trail a special place to be alone with your thoughts and the beauty of nature.
You may even catch a glimpse of our expansive Tennessee wildlife! Keep an eye out for birds and the occasional bobcat, but make sure to give the wild animals their space. They're wild, after all.
You can access the trail from Percy Warner Park at 7311 Hwy 100 in Nashville, Tennessee. See you on the trail!
