The Small State Park Unit Where You Can View The Best Fall Foliage In Montana
There is no shortage of gorgeous outdoor spots in Montana. From pretty small towns to rural backroads, finding a place to take in fresh air and beauty can be as simple as walking outside your front door. One of my favorite seasons to enjoy the outdoors here is fall. As the leaves change, the landscape takes on a whole new look and feel. Summer might be great, but autumn is truly astounding. But, it doesn't last long! To maximize the season, take in this state park fall foliage in Montana to soak it all up.
Welcome to West Shore State Park! While it's really a unit located within Flathead Lake State Park, this small area truly feels like its own world.
The area is located about six miles south of the town of Lakeside and offers 129 acres of beauty on the lake.
The area is lovely any time of year, but the fall foliage on display during autumn is magnificent.
In addition to the many colors of changing leaves, visitors also have views of the Swan and Mission mountain ranges.
To best take in the views, consider taking the 1.5-mile West Shore Loop Trail.
Rated as moderately difficult, this is a great way to see the sights while also taking in the fresh lake air.
Each section of Flathead Lake State Park is beautiful, but the West Shore unit might be one that's new to you. We highly recommend a visit!
