Take A Boardwalked Path To A Montana Overlook That Offers Gorgeous Views Of Glacier

Hidden Lake Overlook trail in Glacier National Park offers a moderately easy hike with breathtaking views, especially popular between June and October.

Montana is a state that's made for outdoor enthusiasts. And if you're planning a trip to Glacier National Park this year, we hope you're including plenty of time for hiking in your schedule. For a relatively easy day hike that leads to an absolutely breathtaking overlook, you can't go wrong with the Hidden Lake Overlook trail. This is definitely one of Glacier's most beautiful gems.

You'll find the Hidden Lake Overlook trailhead directly behind the Logan Pass Visitor Center.

The hike is both easy to find and fairly simple to complete, so it's pretty popular among visitors to Glacier National Park.

The trail is about 2.8 miles in length, and it's considered a moderate hike.

This part of Glacier sees a lot of snow, so plan to enjoy this hike between June and October if you'd like to avoid icy conditions.

You'll start by following a boardwalk trail across the alpine meadows above Logan Pass.

Depending on the time of year, you might see wildflowers or mountain goats here ... or possibly even both.

Before you know it, you'll reach the Hidden Lake Overlook.

And this is where you'll enjoy some of the most incredible views of the park.

The entire hike is enhanced by nonstop views of the high peaks surrounding the Logan Pass area.

It's no wonder so many people love checking out this trail when they visit Glacier.

Speaking of people ... don't expect solitude on this hike, especially if you go in the summer.

The Logan Pass parking area can fill up quickly, so start earlier in the day (and preferably on a weekday) if you'd rather beat the crowds.

The trail does continue just over a mile past the overlook and interpretive sign, but it's an extremely steep walk down to the lake — and there is often grizzly activity in that area.

Your best bet is to stick to the original trail and enjoy the expansive lake views.
