A nature trail provides us with the opportunity to reconnect with nature, to enjoy the natural beauty, and maybe even to catch a glimpse of local wildlife. If you're on the lookout for a family-friendly hike, you can't go wrong on this picturesque nature trail in Missouri.
Springfield Conservation Nature Center provides an idyllic backdrop for a leisurely few hours among nature with the family, friends, or even solo.
For an easy trek the whole family will love, follow the Long Loop nature trail, which clocks in at just 2.1 miles. Even with little ones, you should be able to complete it within an hour.
Wear comfy shoes for your journey that will take you along gravel paths, classic boardwalks, and...
Down stairs that provide tons of shade during the warmer months. Because it's an easy trek, the trail can get really crowded at times.
Stroll through the forested area, where you'll be treated to sensational water views.
If you need a break, grab a seat at the scenic overlook that offers sweeping views of the lush green landscape.
In the spring and in the summer, colorful wildflowers blossom along the trail.
Don't be too surprised if you cross paths with wild turkeys, squirrels, and other local wildlife along the way.
If you're up for more adventure after following the nature trail, consider hiking the Boardwalk Trail or the Savanna Ridge Trail. Both are paved and take a half an hour and 15 minutes respectively to hike.
