Just off Highway 79, in Hannibal, is a 5-acre city park with the most spectacular views.
Once parked at the top of the hill, visitors can walk the paved path the edge of lovers leap.
Local legend states that a Native American woman jumped to her death from this cliff after seeing her love die in battle. The story dates back more than 100 years, but it has never been verified.
Today, Hannibal Parks and recreations cares for this beautiful overlook. The view goes on for miles!
The trail through the park is ADA accessible and is stroller friendly. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy spectacular views on a fresh, spring day.
