The aquarium was made by J. W. Fiske and Company of New York City, which was the leading manufacturer of decorative cast iron and zinc in America during the second half of the 19th century.

According to the inn’s owner, the aquarium dates back to 1860, making it the oldest aquarium in the world.

Completely original and restored to its former glory, the aquarium is undeniably beautiful.

Boasting a sturdy cast iron construction and decorative carvings, it’s the perfect combination of form and function.

The base is adorned with birds, fruits, and flowers, while the top of the base features four crested eagles, which spew water.
