Make Your Summer Epic With A Visit To This Hidden Mississippi Water Park
Buccaneer State Park in Mississippi features Buccaneer Bay, a water park with slides, a wave pool, and a sun deck, making it a perfect summer destination.
Just like the other amazing state parks that fill Mississippi, Buccaneer State Park offers great camping and plenty of recreational opportunities. However, unlike your typical state park, this one includes a water park. Known as Buccaneer Bay, the 4.5-acre water park is loaded with fun for the entire family. From twisting slides and a wave pool to a relaxing sun deck and on-site eatery, Buccaneer Bay may just be the best water park in Mississippi. Take a look:
One of the many campgrounds with water parks in Mississippi, Buccaneer State Park is the perfect place for an in-state getaway, especially during the summer.
The water park, Buccaneer Bay, is open every day throughout the summer season from 10 am – 6 pm.
A great place to spend a summer day, the park includes waterslides, a wave pool, kiddie pool, sundeck, and restaurant.
Spend the day zipping down the park’s two slides – Pirate’s Plank and Pirate’s Plunge.
Both adventure-packed, Pirate’s Plank features a 375’ descent, while Pirate’s Plunge drops 425’, offering plenty of twists and turns along the way.
The younger ones will enjoy Lil’ Smugglers Cove. At just 12" deep, the kiddie pool provides a safe environment (and plenty of fun) for tots just learning to swim.
Just like a day at the beach (minus the sand and jellyfish), Pirate’s Lagoon wave pool generates 6’ waves, which are perfect for tubing and body surfing.
Surrounding the pool, you’ll find Treasure Island. The spacious 10,000 square foot sun deck is the perfect spot for soaking up some sun.
After spending a day in the sun, grab some grub at Sea Dog Galley. The on-site eatery serves a variety of drinks and snacks, including pizza, hamburgers, and nachos.
Enjoy your food on the large deck, which overlooks the water park and the Gulf of Mexico.
