1. Jeff Busby Park (Ackerman)

When it comes to viewing the vibrant foliage that fills this park, there are a couple of options. You can simply drive through the area, taking in the seasonal hues from your car, or you can get out and explore the park, which features a 0.8-mile trail that leads to the top of Little Mountain, the second highest point in Mississippi, where you’ll find an overlook that’s perfect for doing some leaf-peeping.

2. Tishomingo State Park (Tishomingo)

A park known for its beauty, Tishomingo only gets better this time of year. Full of massive rock formations, rare fern-filled crevices, and several waterfalls, the park is definitely one of Mississippi’s most impressive natural wonders. You’ll definitely want to devote some time to exploring this park, which has been nationally recognized for its hiking trails, canoeing, scenery, and cabins.

3. Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge (Brooksville)

This 42,500-acre refuge is filled with forests, lakes, ponds, and an array of wildlife. In the fall, as the leaves begin to change, it takes on a whole new beauty. When visiting, be sure to check out the Doyle Arm Boardwalk. In addition to being a great spot to view foliage, it’s also a feeding area for migratory species, making it an ideal place for some bird watching.

4. Biloxi River (Biloxi)

This body of water, which is located just north of Edgewater Park, offers great vistas year-round, especially in the fall when surrounded by colorful foliage. What’s more, when calm, the river’s pristine water produces a mirror-like reflection, making the lovely views twice as nice.

5. Leroy Percy State Park (Hollandale)

Leroy Percy State Park is Mississippi’s oldest state park – it’s also one of the most beautiful. Though most known for its artesian springs, cypress trees, and ancient oaks, the park also boasts another stunning feature: vibrant foliage in the fall.

6. Grenada Lake Loop (Grenada)

Though it’s gorgeous year round, this 50-mile route gets even better in the fall as the colorful foliage begins to make an appearance. In addition to providing exceptional views of Grenada Lake, the route also includes several points of interest, including the historic truss bridge over the Yalobusha River, Hugh White State Park, and Carver Point State Park.

7. Vicksburg National Military Park (Vicksburg)

Like many of Mississippi’s outdoor attractions, the Vicksburg National Military Park is even more stunning in the fall, making it the perfect time to visit. The vibrant colors of the season provide the perfect backdrop for the more than 1,340 monuments, markers, tablets, and plaques that fill the park.

8. Oxford

There are a plethora of reasons to visit this charming college town. Over the years, it’s been touted as a "cultural mecca" and "foodies’ paradise," but that’s not all. According to Travel and Leisure, it’s one of "America’s Best Towns for Fall Colors."

9. Tanglefoot Trail (Houston to New Albany)

Once a railroad, this 43-mile trail will take you on a history-filled journey through some of the most beautiful fall scenery in the state. A favorite of all ages, the trek is suitable for hikers and bikers.

10. Natchez Trace Parkway (Natchez to Nashville)

The Natchez Trace Parkway is, hands down, the best place to see fall colors in Mississippi. Gather up the family and explore this scenic roadway, which spans 444 miles with lots of interesting stops along the way. Of course, you don’t have to get out of the car – you can simply enjoy a leisurely drive surrounded by the colors of the season.
