And if you'd simply like to explore a gorgeous trail - one that passes under a beautiful tunnel of trees - consider taking a trip along the Cannon Valley Trail. With beautiful scenery and plenty of peace and quiet, there's nothing quite as magical as this place! Take a look:
The Cannon Valley Trail is a nearly 20-mile trail in southeastern Minnesota. It stretches from Cannon Falls to Red Wing, with many access points along the way.
The trail is a popular attraction for both hikers and bikers. It is entirely paved, with some benches and other resting areas scattered along its expanse. Through much of the year, there are also restrooms, though these do close for the winter.
No matter how you choose to travel along the trail, you are in for a treat. Being in a rural area, the trail is surrounded by nature. Trees line the path...
...and their branches, especially when the leaves are still up, create a spectacular canopy. You'll feel like you're traveling through a tunnel of trees!
When the leaves begin to change in the fall, it becomes even more beautiful. The leaves of the mixed forest become a gorgeous array of colors. You'll love traveling beneath them.
There are plenty of interesting points along the canopy of trees. For example, you'll travel over a bridge that crosses a lovely rural river. This is a wonderful time to rest and take in the view!
The Cannon Valley Trail is full of beautiful sights. The gorgeous forest of this area of rural Minnesota creates a tunnel of trees for adventurers to explore!
