Wayswaugoing Bay Overlook is located in the northern reaches of Cook County, Minnesota.
In fact, it's only a few miles south of the Canadian border. This would be a great spot to visit on your way to Grand Portage or as a side trip from Grand Marais or Lutsen.
The overlook is easily accessed from Highway 61 via a nearby parking area.
When you arrive, you'll be blown away by the incredible beauty you'll look out upon. The overlook looks out over the tops of a thick northern Minnesota forest.
The forest rolls in rugged hills towards the coast. From the Wayswaugoing Bay Overlook, you'll be able to see it all.
Beyond the forest, sweeping views of Lake Superior's cold, choppy waters will fill you with awe.
Though the overlook is only about 600 feet above sea level, you'll have an awe-inspiring view that goes on for miles!
