Winter is coming for the Great Lake State, and we love getting outside and experiencing winter activities. Bower School Farm has a large sledding hill for an adventurous day of sliding through a winter wonderland!

Bowers School Farm is located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in the Metro Detroit area.

The farm has been operated by Bloomfield Hills Schools since 1967 and grows its own produce. The non-profit organization has 93 acres of forests, fields, and barns which house adorable farm animals.

Gardening might not be happening in the winter months, but that doesn’t stop Bowers from having fun! Winter Park is open and offers special seasonal entertainment events such as ice carving, game nights, and ice skating performances.

The main event at Winter Park is grabbing an inner tube and walking up the ginormous sledding hill. Snow tubing is a winter bucket list activity that everyone should try at least once.

The hill has a snow carpet and does not rely on actual snow, which is a relief because we all know that Michigan winters are unpredictable! Snow tubing is an individual activity with one tube per person. There are no age limits (hurray for adults!), but riders must be able to get in and out of the tube.

The 200-foot slide has four lanes to accommodate more guests. If you think the slide looks like a blast in the daytime, wait until you see it illuminated at night by the soft glow of the string lights above.
