Trap Falls in Massachusetts Will Soon Be Surrounded by Beautiful Fall Colors

Trap Falls in Massachusetts offers a magical sight with its waterfalls surrounded by vibrant fall foliage.

Massachusetts in the fall is arguably the best time to be in the Bay State. When the leaves start changing into beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow, the atmosphere of our favorite natural areas is even more enchanting. While there are plenty of spots where we can embrace the fall foliage in Massachusetts, there's something special about seeing a waterfall surrounded by breathtaking fall colors. Soon enough, Trap Falls in Massachusetts will be engulfed in the autumn season, and you'll want to visit before the fall foliage is all gone.

When the leaves begin to change colors in the fall, Trap Falls becomes a truly enchanting sight. This waterfall in Ashby is beautiful any time of year, but seeing it surrounded by fall foliage is extra special. Trap Falls is actually a series of waterfalls, featuring three different cascades with the middle waterfall as the largest with a height of 12 feet.

The falls can be a small trickle or completely rushing downstream, depending on the weather. They are most full and powerful after a snow melt or rain. Either way, the sound of a waterfall and blowing leaves will make you feel like you've been transported somewhere magical. This waterfall feels completely hidden, situated just a short ways into Willard Brook State Forest, requiring an easy hike along the short and sweet, 0.2-mile Trap Falls Trail to reach. Due to its short length, this is the perfect waterfall to take kids of all ages (believe me, they will love it!). You can even take a picnic and enjoy a lunch as you gaze upon the waterfall surrounded by vibrant fall foliage. While this is a hidden and underrated waterfall trail, you may even have it all to yourself.

Fall foliage tends to peak in Massachusetts in early October, so you'll want to head to Ashby sooner than later to embrace this waterfall when fall leaves surround it. Don't forget to bring your camera, because Trap Falls in Ashby is the perfect place to take photos in autumn. Get ready for a magical wooded waterfall that's completely engulfed in fall foliage. Fall in Massachusetts will be here and over before you know it, so make sure to plan your visit soon. This map will get you to the falls.
