The Beautiful State Park Where You Can View The Best Fall Foliage In Massachusetts

I don’t know about you, but I feel like the fall season is flying by so quickly this year. There have been so many fantastic autumn festivals, Halloween activities, and seasonal events to attend that I haven’t had time to go on many fall hikes. Luckily, the foliage is still bright and there are some beautiful spots throughout Massachusetts to view it.

Borderland State Park in the town of North Easton is one of these colorful places. This nature and history preserve is set on over 1,800 acres of beautiful land containing scenic views, a bit of history, and some stunning foliage.

There are over 20 miles of trails to explore including some fantastic easy and moderate hikes.

A popular moderate hike is the Borderland State Park Loop Trail. This 8.5-mile hike offers lots of open spaces and a variety of terrain to traverse. The foliage along this trail is incredible right now!

The Leach Pond Trail is a great hike for families. This 3.3-mile loop takes about an hour to complete and is well-marked and maintained. There are many places to sit and admire the spectacular colors that surround the pond.

You will also want to take some time to explore the park’s historic Ames Mansion. This majestic building dates back to 1910. On select Sundays, you can tour this gorgeous home and learn about the history of the property and its colorful former owners, Oakes and Blanche Ames.

The park also has an on-site visitor's center where you can view exhibits, pick up a trail map, or rest your feet after a hike.

If you can't get to Borderland State Park in time to enjoy the foliage, don't worry, the property is beautiful all year round.

You can boat and fish here in the summer and skate and take part in cross-country skiing and ice skating in the winter months.

If you have visited Borderland State Park in the fall, we would love to know about your experience.
