With more than 150 state parks as well as conservation areas, city parks, and wildlife refuges, there are plenty of incredible places to enjoy the great outdoors in Massachusetts. Located just outside of Boston is one picturesque park that's just waiting to be discovered. Neponset River Reservation happens to be a beautiful undiscovered oasis in Massachusetts.
Between Milton, Massachusetts and the Boston Harbor, you can find the Neponset River Reservation. Part of this 1,300-acre reservation is also in Quincy.
Neponset is a natural inlet that offers plenty of recreation from hiking to biking, boating, fishing, and more. It's quite an urban oasis.
This area offers marshes and freshwater wetlands. Keep your eyes open for all the wildlife and birds that call this place home.
To explore this natural area and all it has to offer, you can take some time to hike along the Quincy Riverwalk. This two-mile trail extends along the Neponset River Estuary on the Quincy side.
You may also choose to take a kayak or canoe out on the water for some of the best views of the Neponset River Estuary.
During the summer months, there is a spray deck located at Neponset Landing II on the Boston side of the park. It's the perfect place to take the kids.
While there are plenty of things you can do here at Neponset River Reservation, it's also a wonderful place to visit, relax, and escape city life for a few hours.
