Bundle Up For A Day Of Hiking & Birdwatching At Fruitlands Winter Weekends In Massachusetts

I don’t know about you, but all this cold weather is making me a little stir-crazy. Right about now, I am feeling the need to brave the cold and get back out in the great outdoors to enjoy a bit of fresh air fun. Luckily, I have found a great winter spot that is perfect for chilly hikes and birdwatching adventures. The Fruitlands Museum in the little town of Harvard, Massachusetts is next on my outdoor agenda!

Winter weekends at the Fruitlands Museum are in full swing. The hiking trails are open and hearty New Englanders are out enjoying some winter fun!

The grounds of the museum are open to the public and are free to use from January 6 until May 12, 2024.

The Fruitlands Museum is set on a gorgeous property that was once the site of a Transcendentalist farming experiment. There are over 200 acres of scenic land and five visitor and exhibit spaces on the grounds.

There are miles of snowy trails to explore. The most popular is a moderately ranked 1.9-mile loop trail that takes a little under an hour to complete.

The Fruitlands property is also a great place for winter birdwatching. Be sure to bring a good pair of binoculars and a handy

The Fruitlands buildings (including restrooms) are closed for the season. Be sure to return in the Spring to enjoy all of the amazing art, cultural, and educational exhibits that the museum has to offer.
