With warmer weather upon us, it's time to head outdoors and explore! Whether it's to take an epic hike, head to one of many pristine beaches, or visit the mountains, we have plenty of ways to get some fresh air and sunshine. Another way is to visit a botanical garden like the Berkshire Botanical Garden in Massachusetts where you can marvel at gorgeous colorful flowers in bloom. Let's explore one of the best gardens in Massachusetts.
Located in Stockbridge, the Berkshire Botanical Garden was once known as the "Berkshire Garden Center." Established in 1934, it is one of the oldest public gardens in the northeast.
Berkshire Botanical Garden is a 24-acre, not-for-profit garden that is supported by membership. It is open year-round for a variety of educational programs throughout the year.
The display gardens, however, are open seasonally from May 1 through October 31, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. There's also a Visitor Center and garden shop that opens seasonally as well.
Throughout the 24 acres, you will find over 3,000 species of flowers and plants. It's quite a lot to take in!
In the spring and summer months, take a walk along meandering pathways and marvel at the variety of flowers that are grown here.
Luckily there are benches in certain places around the Berkshire Botanical Garden where you can stop and sit for a while.
As for accessibility, there are many pathways that are accessible to those with disabilities. And, if needed, wheelchairs can be reserved in advance by calling (413) 320-4794.
