Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens transforms the space into a magical winter wonderland with 500,000 LED lights.
With the coming of December, Maine can expect some colder temps and maybe even some snow. But, before we all go running for warmer weather let's remember that December also brings holiday attractions! From Christmas Strolls to a New Year's Eve clam drop (yes, that's a real thing) there are tons to choose from. If you're overwhelmed, we have the answer. Skip them all and head to The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for Gardens Aglow!
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, in Boothbay Harbor, is normally a wonderful place to spend a beautiful day outside.
It's a colorful, beautiful, magical place.
But, nothing compares to what it turns into from November to December!
The Gardens Aglow event takes the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden from beautiful to magnificent!
The event uses 500,000 energy efficient LED lights to decorate the central gardens and buildings.
Visitors are invited to walk through the garden, exploring the various ways that lights have been used to transform the space.
From unique designs at your feet...
...to tall sweeping trees.
And, these are not just run of the mill Christmas lights...lights are used to make trees come alive from the bottom up.
Gardens Aglow runs from November 17th through December 31st, Thursdays through Sundays, 4-9 p.m. Entry is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for kids and a family of 3 can enter for $30.
