This beautiful fresh-water lake sits nestled between forest trees and the views are almost as refreshing as swimming.
At 66-feet at its deepest, this lake offers tons of activities including kayaking, canoeing and SUPing.
But, what we love most is the beautiful beach that allows for total relaxation.
The beach has plenty of room for lounging, but the water here is so warm you'll probably want to wade and swim.
And we love that the views include the high walls of Beech Mountain on the western side of the lake. Adventurous people might consider doing the hike leading up the mountain before dipping into the water to cool down.
Echo Lake Beach is also a great option for young kids as the water remains shallow for a long distance from the sandy beach.
