One Big Sustainable Island (or, 1BSI as it's sometimes called) is located on Annabessacook Lake in Monmouth Maine.

The island is comprised of 14 acres that are said to have been inhabited in some way or another for thousands of years.

The island retreat, is operated by registered Maine guides, Jo and Kent, along with their furry friend "Shadow."

The island is run as a non-profit organization and was created to help inspire those who are curious and aware, to explore our earth in a sustainable way. It's virtually impossible to avoid being motivated to revel in the outdoors in the beautiful environment on the island.

The island hosts a variety of adventures and retreats.

Throughout the year, One Big Sustainable Island offers opportunities for sustainable, off-grid vacation adventures. You'll also have the opportunity for guided tours of the island and lake, as well as half-day, full-day, overnight and weekend retreats.

Visitors can enjoy campsites and treehouses!
