Ride Off Into The Sunset On This Guided Horseback Adventure In Maine

There are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors in Maine that it might seem like adding one more isn't necessary. But, as the summer draws closer we can't help but add things to our bucket list of things to try this season. From hikes to swimming holes to simply enjoying our own backyard, there's a seemingly endless list of things we'll be doing. But, this one is high on our list!

At Carousel Horse Farm in Casco there are many ways to experience the special beauty of one of the most special animals on earth.

There are rides available for everyone from absolute beginners to folks who have spent their whole lives around horses. The expertise of those working here mean that everyone will feel comfortable.

Guided rides last between 1 and 4 hours. And, kids are young at 6 can take part.

The beginner ride is a great way to see what it's like to get close to a horse. These rides last 45 minutes to 1 hour and cost $65 per person. Couples are $120 total or you can bring friends to create a group of 4 for $220.

A great option for more experienced riders is the Quaker Ridge Ride. The route takes couples from the farm through the Jugtown Forest before catching sunset at Quaker Ridge. This is a truly special way to enjoy 4 hours and works wonderfully for a special occasion. The total cost is $400.

And, without a doubt, our favorite option is the ice cream ride!

Starting at the farm, riders will have the chance to trot in the fields before heading to Pear's Ice Cream for a cone.

There are a number of other rides available, many of which can be customized for a private ride.
