From the Kisatchie National Forest to the coast, Louisiana is full of hiking trails that will awaken you to all of the different landscapes found within the Pelican State. We love the rugged, primitive forest trails just as much as we love the boardwalk trails through the swamps, but rarely do you find a trail that’s so enchanting, that you feel like you’re in a fairy tale. This Louisiana loop trail is one of the most enchanting trails in the state, and it’ll quickly become your go-to trail when you need an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Come with me to explore the Kiroli Park Loop in West Monroe.
West Monroe’s Kiroli Park is easily one of the most popular parks in northern Louisiana.
The park’s 150 acres include a dog park, tennis courts, fishing ponds, multiple playgrounds, and some of the most relaxing hiking trails in the area.
There are several nature trails within the park, including the two-mile Kiroli Park Loop.
You can always mix and match to fit your schedule.
The trail will take you around the entire park, offering several scenic views along the way.
The trails are both kid and dog-friendly, so bring the whole crew for a day of outdoor adventure.
There are multiple gardens peppered throughout the park, and depending on what time of year you visit, you could be met with a kaleidoscope of colors from tulips, wild azaleas, roses, wildflowers, and more.
There's always something in bloom.
The park is full of unique attractions.
You never know what's going to be around the corner!
It's not often you come across a covered bridge in Louisiana, but you will on this trail!
This one will have you second-guessing if you're actually in Louisiana or if you've been transported to New England. If you happen to catch the fall foliage here, you're in for a real treat!
The trail is a mix of boardwalks, bridges, and paved walkways.
It's actually a nice mix of sun and shade, too. There will be sections where you'll be underneath the canopies of pine trees and then out in the open enjoying the sunlight.
The views along the way look straight out of a scene from a fairy tale.
The butterfly is a nice touch, too.
If you thought the covered bridge was unique, just wait until you come to the suspension bridge.
You'll have a great view of the vegetation. You might even spot some wildlife down below!
